General Information
- Alternating breaks per round. Rack your own.
- NO COACHING AT ANY TIME DURING A MATCH.
- Per the new ACS Nationals format, all teams are 4-person teams.
- As with the 2026 ACS Nationals, WPA Rules as of September 2025 will apply to all matches except for the following:
- Cue-ball Fouls ONLY
- FOR 9-BALL TEAMS
- Traditional 9-ball racking (One on the SPOT)
- Nine on the break doesn’t count in the bottom corner pockets (corner pockets at the foot string) – the 9-ball will be spotted and play will continue
- PUSH shots after a break must be announced and acknowledged.
- In the event of an entry discrepancy between a players Last National Result, CSR, and Fargo Rating, the highest of the three categories will be used for classification.

- Any other rule changes or clarifications will be announced during registration on the day of the tournament.
QUALIFICATION
Players must be in current good standing with their local league system and ACS National (dues for current year are paid) and must have played a minimum of eight matches over a minimum of eight (8) weeks in ONE session of any pool league sanctioned by the ACS or CCS since 6/1/25. Teams may consist of ACS sanctioned players within their own league system or state. Team caps will be determined by the top 4 ranked players on a team. Each team is allowed 8 players on a roster.
UNRANKED Players
The Georgia State ACS Association reserves the right to assign or change any PLAYER RANKING based on KA – Known Ability. Unranked Players with no supporting data are not eligible for the Rec or Standard Divisions of any events. They must play as an Open ranked or higher player.
HANDICAPPING
Both Single and Team brackets will follow the Mixed Handicapping Format used by ACS Nationals as shown in the event details above.
DRESS CODE:
Each player’s attire must always meet the level of the competition and be clean, proper and in good condition. If an athlete is unsure about the legality of his attire, the athlete should approach the tournament director before the match and ask whether the attire is legal. The tournament director or Head Referee, if one is present, has the final say with regards to the legality of attire. A player may be disqualified for dress code violation. All clothing shall be conservative and appropriate in appearance. “Examples of inappropriate clothing are, transparent clothing, profanity, explicit/vulgar language, etc.”
Singles/Teams Competition Dress Code Specifics
- All Players must wear sleeved shirts of billiards, golf, or button-down style with a conventional fold-over, tuxedo, or mandarin collar (typical pool/billiards shirt), or players may wear t-shirts that are matching (for teams) or neat and without any logo or
- Players must wear neat, clean, untorn, long-style pants, jeans, skirts, or shorts. Yoga Style Pants / Leggings are permitted if they don’t violate any other part of this dress code.
- Absolutely no sweats, warm-up suits, jogging suits, swim suits, cut-offs, or similar allowed.
- All styles of leg coverings shall be of a length that hangs around the knee area at a minimum. The waistband shall be on or above the waist area when worn.
- All Players must wear clean, neat, close-toed shoes at all times in the playing area.
- Novelty head gear, ear buds, Bluetooth devices, etc. are not permitted in the playing area during a match.
- While it is preferred, Teams are not required to have matching shirts for this regional competition but must follow all other parts of this dress code.
- Unless they are being used for streaming or photographing live play, players cell phones must be POWERED OFF during match play. Players may check their phones away from the playing areas between matches. If they are being used for recording, they MUST be set on silent-mode. ANY PLAYER CAUGHT TALKING OR TEXTING DURING A MATCH WITHOUT LEAVING THE PLAYING AREA COULD BE DISQUALIFIED FROM FURTHER PLAY AND ANY PLAYED GAMES CONSIDERED FORFEIT.
General Rules for Mixed Team Match Play
- Team matches consist of up to 7 rounds of single game play (+1 game for Master vs. Master) for 4 players from the HOME and AWAY teams.
- The Round-robin format will be used – HOME team players maintain their position, AWAY team players rotate each round to play a different HOME team player.
- Each win counts as one point.
- The first team to reach the required number of wins (points) for their bracket, wins the match.
- Teams may lag or flip a coin to determine which team is the HOME team.
- The HOME team will then determine their starting lineup and present that to the AWAY team.
- The AWAY team has 5 minutes to determine their lineup, return that to the HOME team captain.
- Players and tables are announced and play commences.
- Breaks will alternate between HOME and AWAY teams by round until the final round of play
- Depending upon the number of teams registered, teams should have 2 or 3 tables for their match.
Details on National Rebates
Only winning team receives options to claim National rebates
- if the team doesn’t attend Nationals the rebates does not go to the 2nd place team nor any other team (per National’s rules)
Team Registration:
Whichever appropriate division the State Champion Team enters at ACS Nationals (rec, standard, open, advanced, master), you receive a rebate for the total cost of team registration less mandatory fees (greens fees/tables – see 2026 published ACS Nationals Teams Event Registration costs).
Example: Registering for the 3 person Standard 9 ball, the registration is around $225. Less fees of $100. Thus $125 rebate.
If you register for the Open or Advanced 3-Person 9ball tourneys, you receive a larger rebate.
Your national registered team roster must be the roster you played with during the GA ATL State tournament with 1 roster position change allowed.
Hotel:
You receive a rebate for 2 rooms for 2 weeknights at the Westgate Hotel. Approximately $380 value.
Total Value – approximately $505 in discounts
Check with the National Registration Desk during national tournament for specifics and to receive your national rebate (bring verification of your hotel registration).
