ACS State Tournament – Team Tourney

ACS Georgia State Tournaments

Saturday, March 16th & Sunday 17th, 2024

Lights Out Billiards is coordinating and Big Shots Billiards is hosting

Registration:  12:00pm to 12:45pm; Tourney starts 1:00pm.

 

Player Qualification Requirements:

All players on roster played at least 8 matches in one of the three seasons (May to May).

This includes all RACE GRID players as well as MASTER league players.

 

 

Saturday, March 16  Individual Tournament Details:

·         8 ball

·         Double elimination

·         Handicapped Race format; see race grid

·         Rack your own; Alternating breaks

·         Must call pocket; ACS table rules

 

 

Entry fees:

Sniper:       1-4 skills:  $20

Standard:  5-7 skills:  $30

Open:        8-10 skills:  $40

Advanced:  11+ skills $50

Individual tournament open to ACTIVE ACS league players.  Individual tournament uses ‘local’ skill ratings.

Sunday, March 17   3-person 9 ball

·         9 ball

·         Double elimination

·         National format (round robin; 2 games/oppon)

·         Team Handicapped race format; see race grid

·         Rack your own; Alternating breaks

·         Wild 9 – no calling shots nor pockets – 9 counts on break in all pockets

·         Push shot after break

 

Sniper Level:                Team entry $45

Standard Level:           Team entry $60

Open Level:                  Team entry $75

Advanced Level:          Team entry $90

 

Team tournament is only open to ACTIVE ACS players. 

 

Team tournament uses ‘national’ classifications.

Notes:  some players have excelled at nationals and were raised a classification.   Team rosters follow the national rules for a team skill qualification (example a 3-person standard team may only have 1 open player on roster with 2 standard players).

 

Winner of team 9 ball tourney receives:

·         Cash

·         Option for Rebates for National Tourney             team registration & hotel

Team Details:

No core requirement — All-star format — players may group together – anyone from GA ACS League system

No team cap.  Team rosters follow the national rules for a team skill qualification (example a 3-person standard team may only have 1 open player on roster with 2 standard players).

NATIONAL – Team Registration:

Fee team entry for either Standard, Open, or Advanced you receive a rebate for the total cost of team registration less mandatory fees (greens fees/tables $75 & admin $25).

Example:  Registering for the 3 person Standard 9 ball, the registration is around $225.  Less fees of $100.  Thus $125 rebate.

Your national registered team roster must be the roster you played with during the GA ATL State tournament with 1 roster position change allowed.  Per National rules.

 

Hotel:

You receive a rebate for 2 rooms for 2 weeknights at the Tropicana.  Approximately $380 value.

Total Value – approximately $505 in discounts

One player on your roster has to stay at event hotel.

Check with the National Registration Desk during national tournament for specifics and to receive your national rebate (bring verification of your hotel registration).

All other rules for attendance for the National tournament apply.

Skill per tournament:

  • Players will use their local skill level in the individual tourney.
  • Players will use their national skill classification in the 3-person 9ball team tourney. Note:  some players have excelled at Nationals and were raised a classification.

 

Non ACS-Atlanta players

Handicaps (non-ACS ATL players) determined during pre-registration.  The local stats will be reviewed to compare to ATL-GA division and a skill level assigned accordingly.  National classifications will be checked as well for team registration.

  • Fill out attached registration form; send handicap records and player stats from your local league to ron@gmail.com. Send min 7 days prior to tourney.
  • Review website to see the skill and classification assigned to you.
  • Players registering after the 7 day window and/or the day of event may be held to a higher skill level due to lack of time provided to research.

 

Tournament director has right to raise player skill level/classification at any time based on play exceeding handicap range.
