Payouts by League Night – Tentative

General Information

  • Currently, we run 4 nightly leagues (Monday – Thursday). Each league can vary in size (number of teams, matches, and match fee amount).
  • We typically run three (3) seasons with 15 weeks of match play in each. Calendar time for the season could be slightly longer than the 15 weeks depending upon scheduling conflicts with our National Sanctioning Organizations (NSOs), national holidays, severe weather or other events impacting a night of play.
  • Dues are typically collected at the beginning of the calendar year and include a locally charged $5 per NSO admin fee for all of the management and reporting required by the NSOs for dues collection and payment.
    • Current Dues by NSO
      • American Cue Sports Alliance (ACS) – $15.00
      • CueSports International (BCAPL) – $20.00
    • Each NSO is different in how they require us to make dues payment. For example, CSI (BCAPL) is unique in that regardless of whether or not a player has paid their dues via another League Operator (locally), we are charged for every player we put into their system once they have played at least one match (this change to their Dues policy was implemented in September of 2025). Supposedly, we will be credited back at the beginning of the following calendar year for any player they find had paid another LO (and they received said payment from that LO) prior to charging us. However, this hasn’t yet been clearly demonstrated, and it isn’t clear how they plan to provide accounting evidence for reconciliation.
    • We maintain these NSO relationships to allow our players the opportunity to compete regionally and nationally as long as they are in good standing and have met the minimum participation requirements (typically, 8 weeks of play within a single season, in the NSO’s “calendar year”).
  • At the end of every season, each nightly league holds a mini-tournament (called Playoff) that is essentially a cash tournament. This tournament does NOT impact the regular season results or payouts (other than there is a cash-add amount in the awards budget for each night’s playoff) and the regular season results only determine the seeding for the bracket. Other than a greens fee that goes to pay a helper for the evening (with the remaining balance going to the server staff at the host location) all entry fees are paid back out to the winning teams.
  • While we are affiliated with National Sanctioning Organizations, the system we play is our own, created by Ron Deemer of Lights Out Billiards, LLC and evolved with the help of Chris Knowles.
  • We also maintain relationships with various Host locations which allows us to conduct our leagues nights using their tables and facilities. Some of these Host locations charge us a fee, some do not. Currently, it is the policy of Big Dawg Billiards, LLC that these fees are a cost to the business and are not passed through to the players. We do everything that we can to ensure these costs are managed but we do not have control over how our host locations choose to do business. We are always looking for new Host locations, if you know of somewhere with at least 6 tables that would be a good candidate, let me know (chris@bigdawgbilliards.com)

Notes

  1. These values assume that
    • All “nightly” leagues run a typical 15 week season.
    • All expected matches were played and paid for during the regular season
    • All player dues were paid during the regular season
    • Positive or negative variances in the above would increase or decrease these numbers accordingly.
  2. T-shirt costs do fluctuate slightly from season to season based on quantity ordered and other costs such as provider, shirt type, etc. The cost value does not equal any “cash value” amount should a player request to not receive a t-shirt. Additionally, that option is not currently available as an “opt-out”. If a player requests to not have a t-shirt, this could impact the overall cost if the ordered quantity drops below a certain amount which can increase the per-unit cost. However, the League Operator is always willing to discuss what options might be available.
  3. As of 1/1/2026, Mazzy’s increased their Table/Greens Fee from $1 to $3 per player, per week. This equates to $150/week for Milton and $120/week for Roswell. This cost is absorbed IN FULL by the League Operator. Additionally, Mazzy’s Roswell charges $275 for us to use their venue for our Monday night playoff. This cost is also absorbed in full by the League Operator.
  4. Recruiting Bonuses (currently $25 for each new player that plays 5 matches, has paid their dues, and is still actively playing in the league) are not considered league performance awards and are accounted for separately as a cost by the League Operator.
  5. Other costs as appropriate: Captain’s Tournament (include venue charges and giveaways), Printing (and related supplies), Lamination, Clipboards, Pens, Clipboard Lights, Bar Staff gratuity, additional venue charges, marketing, technology, etc. are all costs covered by the League Operator and are covered after awards funds are allocated.
